So its a sad day over at 157 Newbury Street today as this beautiful and sprawling luxury condo in the dead center part of the Back Bay has finally got listed on the market for the potential new lucky (very lucky) owner. I wish I could say that our company was representing the seller for this luxury Back Bay home, but unfortunately we are not.
For about the last 6 months I have stayed at 157 Newbury as one of my dearest friends lives there. I must say, it has been a spoiling experience to hang my hat in such a beautiful home right in the middle of downtown Boston. Ahhhh, someday!
Perks I loved the most about 157 Newbs!
1. Parking Space 5 steps (literally) from the back door (of the alley entrance)
2. Direct elevator access from the parking space into the unit
3. Sprawling layout (may be one of the best 3 bedroom layouts in all of Boston)
4. Bathrooms (well there are 4.5 of them, so didn’t get around to using them all)
5. Dartmouth & Newbury is really the center of it all – absolutely everything I needed was 1 or 2 blocks walking distance
Well, the listing went live on the MLS as of this morning, so she is up for sale. I wonder who the lucky buyer will be???

Recent Sales @ 157 Newbury
Just a few months ago Unit #2 sold for $2.05M. The unit has the same layout with 2 big exceptions (1 being good, 1 not so good). Unit #2 sits right above Papa Razzi. Although a very nice restaurant and one that isn’t open too late, you still are less than 12 inches away from the restaurant through your floor. The other exception is that Unit #2 has a grand balcony off of the back of the unit. Its not that deep (maybe only 5 or 6′ wide) but it spans the entire rear of the unit and width of the building). Its a lot of deck space!
