Construction has started on a new high-rise residential tower, to be built on the edge of Bostons financial district.
The project, called 45 Province, after its address, will be, according to the architect, a new 31-story mixed-use residential building that will become a catalyst for revitalization of the Midtown Cultural District.
There will be approximately 150 residential units, on floors 7-31, a health club, on floors 11-12, and 8 levels of parking, on floors 2-6, and below grade. There will also be retail on street level.
The site is centrally located at the southern base of Beacon Hill and is surrounded by Old City Hall, the Boston Common, the Bulfinch State House and the Old Meeting House.
