I cant believe I am posting this as I DO NOT SUPPORT what the unions are doing to Tom or what they do to any of these Boston developers – Its just BAD business and there is nothing anyone can do to change my mind on what the unions have done to Boston construction costs!
For a change, people in Boston are holding signs dissing New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
The Plumbers & Gasfitters Union is upset that the former Michigan QB is using a nonunion outfit to install the plumbing …

Newspaper advertising slowing down – YUP just took these photos 2 minutes ago from our Newbury Street office window. Here are some crazy looking bikes & walk-a-bout advertising. Hey Boston.com – I would watch that Red Housing Logo – Redfin.com just got their hand slapped by Move.com which uses a very similar logo. (we liked the purple dog the best anyway)

Last Thursday 130 Commonwealth Avenue held its private auction rambled off by Sheldon Good & Company out of Chicago. I still don’t believe any offers have been accepted (anyone, anyone).
It will be interested to see what this valued $15M Townhouse will go for. Neighborhing 130 Commonwealth Avenue is 128 Commonwealth Avenue which also has come on the market – the owner – mega car dealer Herb Chambers (moving to the Mandarin Oriental) and he has choosen all-star agent Beth Dickerson to list the property for just shy of …

360 Newbury Loft Condos are still some of our favorite units in all of Boston. Developer Curtis Kemmeny from Boston Residential Group is down to his last few units as he starts to make way on his new South End Condo development – 285 Columbus, the old Red Cross Building. This is probably going to be just as big of a success as 360 Newbury.
We bumped into listing agent Amy Jacobs yesterday and she noted there was only a few left and all were great units.
360 Newbury sits …

Condos for Kids Yup, you got it right. We used to call them “Kiddie Condos”.
There are lots of reasons for “Kiddie Condos” Some adults (parents) leverage personal tax gains, some like to buy real estate instead of pay rent for a child who is going to college or who may have just graduated, the list goes on and on, but what realy is behind a Kiddie Condo
The answer is, it really has nothing to do with the real estate itself. The term “Kiddie Condo” or the …

Development on the long-stalled South Boston Waterfront got a kick-start yesterday, as Waterside Place, a 1.1-million-square-foot urban shopping plaza, hotel, and residential complex, won unanimous approval from the Boston Redevelopment Authority.
Construction for the vast block of buildings, proposed for the land and air space between the World Trade Center and the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, is scheduled to begin early next year.
It would be the second major mixed-use project to get started on the waterfront, following an office building on Fan Pier set to break ground this fall.
The Big …

Over a dinner meeting with Goldman Properties Exec Albert Price we chatted about the new Boston. We were talking about his new thriving neighborhood under development – Boston Wharf over in the Seaport District. Its so interesting watching a developer like Goldman Properties build a neighborhood from the street up adding retail, restaurant and other pedestrian oriented activities to the neighborhood.
Then it popped into my head. What do you imagine when you think about busy street life, urban activity, live, work play neighborhoods, great nightlife, etc. etc. …

Boston’s condo price record – smashed by a blockbuster $14 million sale at the deluxe Mandarin Oriental – is in danger of being broken again.
The entire top floor of the Trinity Place condo tower, a supersized eight-bedroom, eight-bath penthouse, recently hit the market. The asking price: $15 million.
Those thinking of bidding should be well into the multimillionaire category. The condo fees alone are enough to put a quick end to any daydreaming by the less-than-fabulously wealthy. They’re $10,304 a month.
The condo’s asking price was enough to turn the head …
