Located within the Charlestown Navy Yard, Parris Landing, originally known simply as Building 42, was constructed for and used as a nautical machine shop. Upon closing of the active Navy Yard, Parris Landing was then thereafter converted to residential rental units under Boston’s historic preservation guidelines. In late 2004 the property was purchased by Carlyle CQ Boston re-named Parris Landing, in honor of renowned 19th century architect Alexander Parris a designer of numerous buildings in and around Boston as well as the Navy Yard, and the transformation to residential condominiums began. Led by international design icon Philippe Starck and his London based firm Yoo by Starck, the transformation is now complete. Parris Landing has undergone significant capital improvements in all areas of the property including the addition of a club room plus fitness, conference and business centers.
