After dreary reports from last week concerning December’s Boston condo sales plummeting, we actually are seeing a bright spot.
In the past week alone, 81 condos have been listed, according to the Multiple Listing Service Property Information Network.
Most of those are not foreclosures or short sales, but real owners listing at real market prices.
Also last week, 43 Boston condos went under agreement.
After months of light activity, we suddenly have a small flurry in just one week. What does this mean for our market? Well, it is really too early to tell. But the activity is encouraging.
It means that buyers are not scared off by negativity, and are out there looking for a great place to live – and they want Boston. And why not? We are a wonderful city, with so many opportunities, interesting places, interesting people. It says that sellers have the confidence to list.
An early spring market for Boston condos, perhaps?
