Beacon Hill Blues

A 5,700 square foot single-family home in Beacon Hill went up for auction yesterday. The auction was closed about a minute after it started, no buyers raised their cards… The owners, developers Peter and Elizabeth Georgantas opened the auction at the price of $4.975 million. Jeremy Freid, managing principal with Great Rock Auctions, which staged the event, commented, “the buyers said, ‘This isn’t the price we’re willing to pay right now. It may have been the price six months ago, it might be the price six months from now. But it’s not the price right now.’ ’’ Other potential buyers commented on the beauty of the home, but still, the price was too high.
