So today, we got the special privledge of a private tour of the brand new DNA Lofts that are about to come online very shortly. Coldwell Banker New Home Division will be handling the sales and marketing for the DNA Lofts. There is a lot of buzz surrounding this project because of its price point and cool loft product that they have built&#8230;so if you are interested in touring the DNA Lofts please let us know so we can get you in right away and you get the very first pick of this brand new luxury loft development.

About the DNA Lofts:
Units: 59 (8 will be affordable units)
Price Point: $250k &#8211; $599k
Condo Fee: Approx .40 per sq/ft
Parking: Yes, both outdoor spots (come with every unit) and optional garage parking too (19 spots avail).
Outdoor space: Most units have private balcony and there is a common roofdeck too.
The DNA Lofts is located at 944 Dorchester Avenue in Dorchester, MA, just over the South Boston border. Its a 4 stop Redline T-stop from downtown&#8230;so it is very close to the city. (it only took us 5 minutes to drive there from the Seaport District). The building was an old warehouse for construction material (R&amp;R Supplies) which has since relocated.
The DNA Lofts is actually 3 buildings put together into one. The original building is 3 stories with soaring authentic loft units with ceiling heights between 12&#8242; &amp; 16&#8242; tall. Beam style architecture and true lofts above the casual living space.
One of our favorite units was the model unit which is in the main part of the building&#8230;we have some pictures below of this unit. It is unit 8 on the 1st floor. It will be priced somewhere betweeen $480k-$499k and is 1277 sq/ft. It has a balcony (like most units do&#8230;about 80% of units have one) and come with gorgeous polished concrete floors.
The other two buildings are new construction loft style units. About 20 of them are built out with bamboo flooring and other other 20 units are left blank for you to customize completely to your style!
At DNA Lofts no unit is the same. The developer has put in great touches with this building and its very unique. Great appliances, common areas and landscaping. This is huge improvement for this upcoming neighborhood in Dorchester.

RaiCoh Partners is currently developing the former Meisel Press Building located at 944 Dorchester Avenue in the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester in to a 59 unit loft development. After successfully permitting the project through a rigorous neighborhood review board as well as steering the project through the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) large project review and the Boston Zoning Board of Appeals RaiCoh teamed with R&amp;R Realty who is providing equity financing.
Construction started in March of 2007 and is anticipated to be completed in June 2008. Construction includes renovation of an existing structure as well as the new construction of an underground parking garage and two new wings bringing the total project size to approximately 72,000 square feet.
I believe Coldwell Banker New Homes Division is doing the sales and marketing but I will confirm back on that shortly.

A high-powered developer looking to bring the uptown condo experience down to Dorchester is slashing its prices in a bid to bring in buyers to this luxury condo development called The Carruth.
Trinity Financial is putting the finishing touches on an ambitious project that is redeveloping an entire block near the Ashmont T station into a mix of trendy eateries and shops, high-end condos and affordable apartments.
But with deals for only two of its 46 condos, Trinity Financial is knocking down the prices at the new Carruth, in some cases by as much as $70,000.
The project&#8217;s 46 condos will now range in price from $219,000 to $399,000. Previously, the project&#8217;s most expensive units approached the $500,000 range.
The Carruth&#8217;s 70 apartments, priced between $900 and $1,100 a month, are all rented. A restaurant and a bank that features an expresso bar are some of the retail attractions in the works.
Trinity is hoping to attract buyers with more than the lure of lower condo prices. The developers say the project, built next door to a major Red Line station, will appeal to buyers looking to ditch their cars amid rising gas prices.
With gas prices heading up over $4 a gallon, people are looking to public transportation, Goldenfarb said. People are really looking for a new way of living.
