Fly like an eagle in East Boston single-family

For the price of a condo — $329,000 — 38 West Eagle St. in East Boston is an excellent opportunity for the first-time homebuyer to start at the single-family level. Add to that its gleaming hardwood floors, custom woodwork, spacious kitchen, entertainment-size deck and conveniece to Logan Airport, and you’ll really fly like an eagle in this stately 2,204-square-foot, 5-bedroom mansard Victorian.

The custom paneled wainscoting adds a touch of class to the formal dining room, making it feel like a higher-end home.

As does the unusually spacious, sunny eat-in kitchen, which …

Lofty living for less in East Boston

Porter 156, a 1912 bra factory converted into 216 loft condos in 2005, is leading the way in reshaping East Boston as the city’s new waterfront frontier. Great Eats in Eastie

In a conversation the other day in the always friendly North End, I started to talk with a nice gentleman concerned about his parking spot (We all know the horror tow stories that happen here!) Well, he mentioned he owned a pizza place in East Boston and I couldn’t help but investigate further.
The place is called Dough and its located 20 Maverick St, very close to the airport. According to one of the owners, their vision is Parish Cafe meets Upper Crust in a cozy neighborhood.
Offering pizza, pasta, and paninis, …

The all new Boston East, yes “Boston East” – a new condo development in the planning stages with the city set forth to sit at waters edge in East Boston, MA.
For two decades, East Boston has been touted as the city’s next “hot” neighborhood, and residents have eagerly anticipated the redevelopment of its historically industry-heavy waterfront. And now, even as the stalling of work on Roseland’s ambitious East Pier has disheartened expectant neighbors, the forward momentum of the 196-unit Boston East project is giving them new reason to hope.
