New Residential Tower Creates Concern

Another high-rise Boston condo development is in the works apparently and is seeking approval from the BRA. This proposed 28-story $200 million Boston condo development has been dubbed One Bromfield and will be located near the Bromfield and Washington streets. And this has raised some eyebrows around the city…

Problem is, One Bromfield Boston apartments will be just a short distance from the 137 unit luxury Boston condo development 45 Province. The developer for 45 Province, The Abbey Group, is concerned that this proposed   is more than this area of Boston can handle and is opposed to the size of the new development.

Plans for One Bromfield call for a 276 Boston apartment unit complex that would be 407,000 square feet with 50,000 square feet of retail space.

Not only are the developers of 45 Province concerned, but others have voiced their concerns that this new Boston residential apartment tower would cast shadows over the area streets and historic landmarks.
